Demedrius Charles is a St.Lucian born Writer, Director, Poet and Producer. His Credits include four shows made for television and two Off-Broadway productions. Four of his standout works are "Broken," Ascension: I am not my Mother", web-series "The D Matzzis" and "Pot Calling Kettle." all female driven productions.
In 2022, he produced Matters of the Heart". The debut performance took place at The American Theater of Actors and then at the famed Cabaret lounge, Danny's Grand Sea Palace in Manhattan. In 2013, Charles wrote and produced "Le Chateau", a play which was performed at the Paul Robeson Theater in Brooklyn. Mr. Charles has embarked on some provocative poetry projects; They include three published poetry collections: Mood, Tainted, and Sketched. “Poetry Xpressed” is a compilation of one minute poetry in motion videos, marrying his love for the written word with striking visual imagery. In his short career, Mr Charles work has been recognized by many institutions, some of which include: In 2022, "Best Movie Producer" Fashion Avenue News Magazine. In 2020, he received the " Achievement Award" from the St.Lucia Toronto Association, in 2018 the "Sir John Compton President Award" from The Piton International Film Festival and in 2015 the "St.Lucia House Foundation Arts Award". In addition, he also garnered an "Achievement Award" from The Piton International Film Festival for his film "Ascension: I am Not My Mother". ACHIEVEMENT AWARD / 2015
Ascension I am Not My Mother, the recipient of a 2015 Achievement Award, was the feature film on opening night at The Piton International Film Festival held on the Caribbean Island of St.Lucia. Joining me in St.Lucia were actresses Ayo Robinson, Justine J Hall and Michelle Fawn. It wasn't all about Festival but a little Sun, Sea and Sand. |
