Demedrius Charles is a St. Lucian–born Writer, Director, Poet, and Producer whose voice strides across stage and screen with unapologetic power. His work spans four television projects and two Off-Broadway productions, each charged with bold storytelling and a pulse that feels unmistakably his.
Among his most acclaimed creations are Broken, Ascension: I Am Not My Mother, the web series The D Matzzis, and Pot Calling Kettle—works driven by fierce, complex women and narratives that confront truth with unflinching clarity. His theatrical footprint includes Matters of the Heart (2022), which premiered at The American Theater of Actors before expanding to the iconic Danny’s Grand Sea Palace in Manhattan, and Le Chateau (2013), staged at the Paul Robeson Theater in Brooklyn, where audiences encountered his early artistic fire. A poet at his core, Charles has authored three collections--Mood, Tainted, and Sketched—each a testament to his lyrical eye and instinct for emotional unraveling. He is also the creator of Poetry Xpressed, and Masked, a film series that fuses verse with striking visuals, transforming poetry into cinema and feeling into image. |

ACHIEVEMENT AWARD / 2015
Ascension I am Not My Mother, the recipient of a 2015 Achievement Award, was the feature film on opening night at The Piton International Film Festival held on the Caribbean Island of St.Lucia. Joining me in St.Lucia were actresses Ayo Robinson, Justine J Hall and Michelle Fawn. It wasn't all about Festival but a little Sun, Sea and Sand. |
